Giving Children back

their Right to Education

S.K.E.P. was started as a project in September 2004 and currently the organization supports the education of 56 children, all of of whom attend the Baga-Baga Primary and Junior Secondary School in Tamale. There are many other children still waiting to to receive support from S.K.E.P.

Supporting Family Planning and HIV & AIDS awareness

The organization does not only support the families and their children financially but it also organizes health campaigns

like family planning and HIV & AIDS education.

In Ghana  S.K.E.P. is being represented by the following people:

Oluu Mahama (director)

I live in the north of Ghana and I study marketing. I have worked for a long time at an orphanage in Tamale, where I helped young children at school. I have been willing to do more for these children for a long time and S.K.E.P. gives me the perfect opportunity to do so.

Mahama Safianu

I joined S.K.E.P as a volunteer in November 2005. Before joining S.K.E.P I worked as a volunteer for a community radio station. During that period I developed a lot of interest in voluntary activities. One day I met Oluu Mahama , who invited me to come and have a look at S.K.E.P. and its activities. I realized that it was a great organization and after a while I decided t join the organization. I am very enthusiastic about the project and want to do a lot more for my  little brothers and sisters.

In the Netherlands S.K.E.P. is being represented by the following people:

Jolanda van Erkel (chairwoman)

In the Netherlands I work as a teacher for a primary school where I teach the children of the last grade. I have had a passion for Africa since I was very young. Therefore I went to Africa after my studies, to work as a teacher in Ghana.  The Ghanaian culture has got me in a grip since.

 Sandra Peters (treasurer)

I have always felt myself strongly connected with Africa and therefore I have already visited Ghana twice. Among others I worked at a project with a aim to help the underprivileged youth  Because of this my interests were raised for the people, the country and the culture.
