Financial Support through Sponsorship

Each child is sponsored by a family in the Netherlands. The money donated goes towards school-fees, uniforms, medical costs and other support for the family in Ghana. Without this kind of support the children would have no opportunity to go to school, and their only means of survival would be working on the street.

Working through Volunteers

Much of the work we do couldn’t be achieved without the support of volunteers. Volunteers come from all over the world to help with various programmes within S.K.E.P, such as teaching in schools or orphanages, HIV&AIDS education and fundraising.

Current and Future Projects

Bicycles: There has been on-going fundraising to supply bicycles to the children who live far from school. See the Bikes 4 Ghana page for more information.

 

School-building: The school is very crowded with over 80 children in a class, therefore we need to raise funds to build extra classrooms. The roof of the old building is also falling down and needs renovating.

    

Computer Training Extra Lessons:  S.K.E.P. Is also aiming to give a basic computer literacy education to the sponsored children. In the future we would like to have a small computer lab of 10 networked PC's. This will help introduce the child to this important technology resource. Through this the child will be able to communicate easily and quickly with the sponsor family and access world-wide information through the internet. We would particularly like volunteers who have good computer knowledge for this purpose.

 

 

Water Reservoir and Pumping Facility:  We are currently trying to provide a clean water supply to the Bagga-Bagga school and its neighborhood. This cannot be achieved without support through donations.
